The sky was waiting...

Te Rangi Pai
(The Beautiful Sky)

The sky was waiting for my return
with the patience of the Universe.

Soft clouds gathered, came closer in greeting
And the sun sent out a single golden ray.

Cabbage trees rustled a welcome in the warm northerly breeze
And the mountains, awesome as ever,
stood in defiance of the burgeoning weight of time.

The sea stilled for a moment, smooth as steel,
As I bathed my senses in the view.

I am home.

A family emergency called me back to the UK for the past couple of months. How I missed my beautiful sky. But when I returned it was here waiting - as I knew it would be.

Hi
I was waiting patiently for your sky too, glad you're home safely and able to relax back in your world.
Love the poem, presumably your own words, enhanced from the course...
